Nataša Owens

Nataša Owens graduated in Law from the University of Zagreb in 1991, and commenced her career as a trainee lawyer in the office of attorney Nikola Bartolić. After passing the bar exam in 1998, she registered in the Directory of Attorneys of the Croatian Bar Association and has worked as a lawyer ever since. She also worked for a while as an official receiver.
She ran her independent law office from 1998 to 2007, except for the period from 2000 to 2003 when she practised law in a joint law office with attorney Katarina Žanetić. She founded OWENS, HOUŠKA AND PARTNERS, Law Firm, Llc. with attorney Tihomir Houška at the beginning of 2007.
On 7th June 2016 she was appointed as the successor of Lovorka Kušan’s law office, who was elected as a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia.
Since 2003 she has been actively involved in the work of the European Movement Croatia and the European House Zagreb associations, first as vice president of the associations, then president of the Executive Board, and in 2015 became president of the associations. European House Zagreb and European Movement Croatia are the leading non-governmental organisations for the promotion of European integration and operate by providing information and promoting European ideas and the value systems and civilizational standards of a united Europe.
Since 2008 she has been a member of the Board of European Movement International, an international association gathering together 39 European countries and 33 international organisations, since 2014 she has acted as vice president of the Association and in 2020 she was elected as Treasurer. The European Movement International was founded in 1948 by Winston Churchill, Paul-Henri Spaak and other important pioneers of the European idea, and has played an important role in the process of European integration ever since.
